Do I need to be vaccinated against Covid-19 to attend?


Per Alberta Health Services and the Government of Alberta, hotel guests must provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test to access all hotel restaurants, lounges, spas, pools and any meeting or event - including Christmas in November - held on the property.




Who will be checking my proof of vaccination?


Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge will have designated staff members trained to checked valid proof of vaccination along with valid government photo ID. To ease access to our guests who identify as fully vaccinated, a card will be provided that can be shown to enter the facilities listed above.




I am unable to receive the vaccine due to health/religious reasons, can an exemption be made for me during my upcoming stay?


If a vaccination is not possible, you may show proof of a privately-paid negative PCR or Antigen Rapid Test within 72 hours of service (tests from AHS or Alberta Precision Laboratories not allowed).




Will I be able to attend Christmas in November if I am unable to show proof of vaccination?


Only guests who are able to show proof of double vaccination or proof of a privately-paid negative PCR or Antigen Rapid Test within 72 hours of service will be permitted to attend Christmas in November.




How do I show my proof of vaccination?


(AB Residents): Proof of vaccination can be shown via a paper or digital copy of your vaccine record along with official government ID.

(Non-AB Residents): Travelers visiting AB from outside of the province will also be required to show proof of vaccination, and further information regarding how to show proof of vaccination for non-AB residents can be found here.




Will masks be required during classes, the Welcome Reception, meals, Gala dinner?


Masks are mandatory in all public areas. Guests may take off their masks to eat or drink but must be seated at a table while consuming food or drink or standing at a table while consuming food or drink.




Will masks be required while dancing?


Masks are mandatory in all public areas, including on the dance floor.




Are hotel staff required to be fully vaccinated?


At this time, Alberta Health Services is not requiring businesses to make vaccinations mandatory for employees. Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge does, however, complete daily health screening and temperature checks for all colleagues prior to every shift. We will continue to follow guidance provided by AHS, and should this change and staff be required to show proof of vaccination, we will follow the mandate accordingly.

That said, Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is strongly urging staff to receive their vaccination, and has provided useful tools and resources to ensure all colleagues have the appropriate information to complete their vaccination as advised.




Are motorcoaches still running/available for this year’s event?


Yes, motorcoaches will be running from Edmonton and Calgary, and there are still a few spots available. Masks will be required while traveling on the motorcoach. You may add this option during the registration process for $160+tax or by contacting our Reservations Team.




Will I be seated with unvaccinated people during dining periods?


All guests of CIN are required to show proof of double vaccination or documentation of a negative PCR or Antigen rapid test prior to entering classes, dining experiences, receptions and events.




Will I be seated with parties I am not traveling with during dining periods?


Yes, you will be seated with other guests. All guests of CIN are required to show proof of double vaccination or documentation of a negative PCR or Antigen rapid test prior to entering classes, dining experiences, receptions and events.




How far apart will the tables be during dining periods? Will there be partitions between guests?


Tables will be spaced 6 feet apart and there are no partitions between guests.




How many guests will be at each table, and will there be partitions between them?


There will be 8 guests at each table. Partitions will not be set up between guests. All guests of CIN are required to show proof of double vaccination or documentation of a negative PCR or Antigen rapid test prior to entering classes, dining experiences, receptions and events.




Will the meals be served buffet style or plated?


As in years past, all lunches and dinners will be plated and served to our guests. The welcome reception, breakfasts and brunch will be buffet style. All guests of CIN are required to show proof of double vaccination or documentation of a negative PCR or Antigen rapid test prior to entering all dining experiences and receptions.




On Wednesday, September 15, 2021, Alberta Health Services (AHS) announced plans to implement requirements for proof of vaccination to access certain events, services and businesses under the Restrictions Exemption Program. Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is participating in this program, which means:


  • Those looking to dine in bars and restaurants, attend meetings and events – including Christmas in November - will be required to show proof of vaccination via a paper or digital copy of their vaccine record, as well as official government ID.
  • To ease access for our guests who identify as fully vaccinated, a card will be provided that can be shown to enter the event. The card must be shown before entering classes, receptions, all dining experiences, the health club, spa and pool.
  • To enter spaces participating in the Restrictions Exemption Program, people ages 12 and older can provide proof of vaccination or documentation of a negative PCR or Antigen rapid test.
    • Per AHS, after Oct. 25 proof of double vaccination is required.
    • Proof of a privately-paid negative PCR or Antigen rapid test within 72 hours of service will also be accepted (tests from AHS or Alberta Precision Laboratories not allowed).
    • If your negative test is set to expire while you are attending the event, another test must be administered and show negative results before rejoining classes, dining in the ballrooms and restaurants, using the health club, spa and pool. Tests will be available for purchase at the Front Desk for $89+ tax.
    • The only exemption to this provincial mandate will be for children under 12 years of age who are not yet eligible to receive their vaccination.
  • Masking remains mandatory in all indoor public spaces, including during classes and receptions/banquets/meals (including while dancing) when not seated.
  • Social distancing is not required in the classes, however masks are required.
  • Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge will continue to support the AHS’s efforts to ensure necessary precautions are taken to keep Alberta residents and visitors safe and healthy.
