LAUREN TOYOTA

Influential YouTuber, Author, Vegan Lifestyle Expert

Lauren Toyota is one of the most inspirational, influential voices in Canada. She seamlessly transitioned from close to 10 years as a national television host on MuchMusic Canada to an independent, self-made content producer for more than eight successful social channels.

From YouTube to Twitter to Instagram, Lauren has hundreds of thousands of combined followers, fans, and subscribers. Currently, she is devoted to creating authentic and engaging creative content on her YouTube channels, Lauren In Real Life and hot for food. She recently released her first vegan cookbook Vegan Comfort Classics: 101 Recipes to Feed Your Face.

Lauren began her television career hosting and producing the youth lifestyle series 969 on Razer. Wowing young Canadians with her off the cuff interviews, bursting laughter, and quick wit, she received a Leo award nomination for best performance or host in a youth or children’s program or series in 2007. An intrepid go-getter, Lauren jumped at the opportunity to do more, becoming the host of global music series Ethnosonic on CityTV Vancouver, regularly participating as a guest expert on CFUN 1410 and Breakfast Television. In 2007, Lauren became a VJ and Producer for MuchMusic in Western Canada.

 

In 2009, Lauren returned home to Toronto and remained at the forefront of Canadian media, hosting online content and branded initiatives. From 2010 to 2013 she was one of the most prominent MuchMusic VJ's hosting the station’s daily flagship show New.Music.Live., and interviewing some of the biggest names in entertainment. Lauren also hosted the MuchMusic Video Awards four years in a row, and the hit reality series The Much VJ Search.
