Known to most as Chef Mo, Muhannad Al Ateem was born and raised in Jordan, where his interest in cooking started early. At 13, he began watching cooking shows alongside his mother, while the food he grew up with gave him his first understanding of flavour, spice and the traditions behind a dish.  

Over more than two decades in professional kitchens, Chef Mo has worked throughout the Middle East and the United States with Four Seasons, Fairmont, InterContinental, The Ritz-Carlton, Nemacolin and Rosewood Hotels.  

He is a recipient of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Dîner Amical award and Unilever’s Chef of the Year, and has led culinary operations associated with AAA Five Diamond and Forbes Five-Star honours.  

He joined The Plaza in March 2022, where he oversees The Palm Court, Champagne Bar and In-Room Dining.  
His approach centres on strong technique, consistency, quality ingredients and disciplined kitchen leadership.
